Pyrodex Powder is a powerful and highly efficient substitute for black powder. Pyrodex RS comes in a one-pound resealable bottle in three different granulation types:

Pyrodex Gunpowder (Rifle Shotgun) can be used in all calibers of percussion muzzleloading guns and shotguns. It is the most versatile powder in the Pyrodex® line and has a wide range of applications. Like all grades of Walmart Pyrodex, it burns cleaner and produces less fouling than black powder. Based on particle size, RS is equivalent to FFG black powder.

Pyrodex® Select is considered by many to be the most precise powder available. Select is an improvement to the RS grade of Pyrodex®. When using RS or 2F data in a volumetric measurement, Select can significantly reduce the pool size. Great news for deer hunters is that Select works well with clogs and conical bullets. Select has become a favorite among many shooters with black powder cartridges due to its exceptional consistency. For specific use, Pyrodex® Select is “the best of the best.”

Pyrodex P (Pistol) is designed for use in all smaller caliber pistols and rifles, .45 caliber and smaller. Black powder replacement is also useful as a priming charge in guns with a tortuous or dirty ignition channel or other concerning ignition problems. Based on particle size, Glock 20 SF, Pyrodex P is equivalent to FG black powder.
