This shell’s performance isn’t unusual, although its performance is what many would consider optimal for a double-aught defense load. The 2-3/4” round is packed with nine pellets of 00 buck – top choice of buckshot for law enforcement – and enough podwer to chuck the pellets at a high muzzle velocity of 1,350 fps (over 200 fps faster than the speed of sound). That means each individual pellet hits *roughly* as hard as a 32 ACP (a pistol cartridge once used by German police).
